Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 sprigs fresh rosemary

Instructions

  • Combine Ingredients:
Combine the water, sugar, and fresh rosemary in a small saucepan.
  • Heat and Dissolve:
Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved. This usually takes about 3-5 minutes.
  • Steep the Rosemary:
Once the sugar is dissolved, remove the saucepan from the heat. Allow the rosemary to steep in the syrup for 30 minutes.
  • Strain and Store:
Strain the rosemary sprigs and any rosemary particles by pouring the syrup through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth. Pour the syrup into a clean jar or bottle and store it in the refrigerator. Rosemary Simple Syrup can be stored for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

Steep the rosemary for 15 minutes for a milder rosemary flavor or for up to 1 hour for a stronger rosemary syrup.
